I really liked this book, it is the second retelling I read and I kinda like this type of books .))
Sincerely I had this book on my shelves since June, and I didnt know why i haven’t picked it up until now, I mean I was scared to read it because I heard and read mixed reviews about it, but now in august a book club in my country is/was reading this book. That was the sign I’ve been waiting for.
I read it in 2 days and i am glad i waited this much because it was worth it. ♡
Synopsis-

As I said before is a retelling but the good thing about this book it is that it had its own final and plot. All that it has in common with “The little mermaid”(TLM) are the characters: Lira which is a mermaid and Elian which is the prince and maybe the slow romance between them… but that’s it!
But even if the root of the characters is from TLM I liked their little originality,
Lira is the daughter of the Sea Queen, and she is sooo rebel. I mean who would not hate a mother like the Sea Queen, totally understandable! She is also heartless.. i can’t say i like i liked mermaids before but now I might look at them with different eyes.. poor princes..
Elian is a warrior… prince Eric from the 21st century..i liked how devoted was to his friends and this time this guy was a lot smarter than Eric not gonna lie..
And the Sea Queen is CRAZY, you need to read the book to know why ,)
I need to say this is a slow burn romance, and i liked them. Step by step they felt in love with each other and they form a beautiful duet. ♡
Any human who takes the heart of a mermaid will be immune to their song. But Elian didn’t have to take my heart. I gave it to him myself. ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡
Now I will tell you what i didn’t like-
First, I think the side characters deserved a little more talking, they are important too.
And also, in my opinion the ending was fast forward… it ended all of a sudden in my opinion
To be honest, when i was reading it I was scared it wont end and it will be a cliffhanger… I liked they ended up how they did but I NEEDED MORE DETAILS. .(
So, in conclusion, it was nice book, if you need a slow burn romance, and also a fast read- this is the one. In the future I will be interested in reading other books from this author. Until the next review!! <3
