Number of pages: 283
Rating: 5☆/5☆
TW: abuse, blood, mental problems, nightmares, disgusting details

I will start this with a funny story
I went to a bookstore two weeks ago and I wasn’t planning to buy this specific book, but I wanted another book which was not available, so I was looking through books from the same publisher as “The Chalk Man” and I saw it..👀 And I asked myself from where do I know this book, and then i remember I’ve seen it on bookstagram at one of my favorites (@martipaan💚 thx) and i wanted to buy it but i forgot about it until that day. Then of course i bought it and read it in the following week. .))

Now onto the review-
I really loved this book, it got my attention so quickly that I read it in one sitting. It was my first book from this author, but definitely not the last!!
I liked how the action was divided in two time periods:  1986 - where the crime happened and then 2016- the comeback.
Throughout the book we see
-the 1986 Eddie, the main character, and his friends: Gav, Metal Mickey, Hoppo and Nicky; who decide to send their days cycling around their quiet hometown, always looking for adventures. The little chalk men they draw everywhere are their secret way of communication. But when one of these drawings lead them to a dismembered body, the story change completely.
Just think about it, some teenagers finding a dead human in a forest, now really, I think everyone won’t remain normal after this, especially Eddie..this guy is…a psychopath!!
-Then in 2016, Eddie thought everything got back to normal, and that incident can remain forgotten, but then he and his friends receive a weird and mysterious message and the past come back to life more dangerous than ever..

Following the action, more secrets come to life, others die, people change.. and a lot of shocking plot twists!!! but in the end everything will be explained. Which i am glad it happened😅
Eddie, never assume anything. Put everything under question mark. Never consider something evident to be right.

At the end I was so SHOCKED 😳 like really!?! “Do not trust anyone” that is what this book`s supreme quote needs to be! How could he do that!?! All these years!?; Why is he so evil!?; Why would you still visit him after he left you, HE LEFT YOU! DO you want him to kill you too??
I still think some characters are meant to be this dumb seriously just to make us love this kind of books..
I gave it 5☆ because of the characters development, the plot twists (there isn’t just one) and for Eddie’s imagination who made the story 10 times horrifically intense.
I really recommend it to you guys! Amazing book!!
